GRAND ISLAND – Blake Teichmeier, a teacher at Walnut Middle School, won the Big Idea 2025 contest.

Teichmeier has a website, GreatCents.org. It is a publishing company that publishes items related to the financial literacy curriculum Teichmeier has developed for the classes he teaches.

Toasted by Danish Bakery won second place. The business will soon be opening a location in Grand Island, offering freshly baked breads, pastries, and seasonal treats.

Spot On Childcare Connect earned third place for an innovative app designed to bridge the childcare gap, helping parents and providers connect quickly and easily.

The Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce, Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation and Central Community College Entrepreneurship Center sponsor the contest.
