HASTINGS — A High Wind Warning will be in place across parts of central Nebraska during the daytime hours of Tuesday, Nov. 25.

According to the National Weather Service – Hastings, the warning will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Counties impacted include those mainly along and north of Interstate 80.

Northwest winds are expected at 30 to 40 mph with some localized gusts up to 60 mph expected. The strongest gusts are not expected until the afternoon hours.

“The core of strongest winds is still expected to be over north-central Nebraska, but occasional gusts in the 50-60 mph range are possible as far south as Highway 6,” NWS Hastings stated in a forecast discussion.

“Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects. Winds may cause tree damage, and localized power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” per NWS Hastings.

“Use caution if traveling, secure outdoor objects, and avoid trees if outdoors,” per NWS Hastings.
