GRAND ISLAND – The 28th annual Community Christmas Dinner at St. Pauls Lutheran Church will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, at 1515 S. Harrison.

Volunteers are needed for various positions.

Volunteer sign-up sheets are posted on tables near the church’s Fellowship Hall. People may also call the church at 308-382-2973 to sign up as a volunteer. People may also go to the church’s website at www.stpaulsgi.org to sign up.

Volunteers are needed for tasks such as preparing and carving turkeys, packaging Meals on Wheels dinners, delivering Meals on Wheels dinners, and Dec. 25 cleanup. Volunteers are needed on Dec. 22, Dec. 23, and Dec. 25.

The deadline to sign up as a volunteer is Thursday, Dec. 18.

Anyone is welcome to attend the dinner. A free-will offering will be available.

The meal is a traditional Christmas dinner with items such as turkey, ham, potatoes, dressing, corn, and desserts such as pumpkin pie. Approximately 1,000 people attend the event annually.
