KEARNEY — The Kearney Police Department participated in the statewide Make-It-Click campaign from November 26–30, 2025.

During this selective enforcement period, officers conducted 139 total traffic contacts, issued 22 citations, and arrested one driver for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Two Kearney Police Officers dedicated a combined 9 hours of focused effort toward seat belt and traffic safety enforcement.

Captain Thompson emphasized the importance of consistent seat belt use, stating, “Buckling up takes only a second, but it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your family on the road.”

As always, the Kearney Police Department urges all motorists to wear their seat belts and ensure children are properly buckled in. Kearney’s participation in the Make-It-Click campaign is made possible through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
