GRAND ISLAND — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded $4,386 from the NDOT Highway Safety Office for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.

Five deputies will work an extra 60 hours of overtime enforcement to step up efforts to stop impaired driving during the winter holidays with high-visibility enforcement.

The enforcement period is from December 10, 2025 through January, 1 2026.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a national high-visibility enforcement campaign that runs during specific times of the year. This campaign focuses on the legal consequences of drunk driving and is supported by active law enforcement efforts.

“During the Christmas and New Year holiday periods, we often see a rise in drunk-driving deaths. In fact, recent data shows December drunk driving deaths are the highest in 15 years. As a result, you’ll likely see more law enforcement on the roads as part of Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. The campaign, which runs December 11 – January 1, aims to educate people about the dangers and consequences of driving drunk,” according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
