GRAND ISLAND – Teshawna Sawyer, executive director of Willow Rising, has left her job.

In a Dec. 3 post on Facebook, the non-profit organization reported that Sawyer departed from Willow Rising on Dec. 2.

Sawyer has been on Willow Rising’s staff for five years, including two years as executive director.

“We appreciate the contributions she made during her time with the organization,” the Facebook post said.

Hallie Razo will serve as interim executive director while the organization’s Board searches for a new executive director.

“Our commitment to supporting survivors and strengthening our communities remains unwavering. We have a clear transition plan in place and will continue providing updates as we move forward,” the Facebook post said.

Text on the Facebook page describes the services that Willow Rising provides. It is dedicated to creating new beginnings for those impacted by domestic and sexual violence by providing safety, support, education, and survivor empowerment in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick counties.
