GRAND ISLAND – The 28th annual Community Christmas Dinner at St. Pauls Lutheran Church will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, said event chairman Ed Meedel.
Approximately 1,000 meals are served at the annual event. The meal is a traditional Christmas dinner with items such as turkey, ham, potatoes, dressing, corn, and desserts such as pumpkin pie.
Volunteers are still needed for the event. Interested people may call the church office at (308) 382-2973 or go to the church’s website at www.stpaulsgi.com to sign up.
Church volunteers will prepare lunches to be delivered Dec. 25 to people in the Grand Generation Center’s Meals on Wheels program. Meals will also be delivered to essential personnel such as law enforcement officers and Fire Department staff. Food will also be delivered to Hope Harbor.
“We are glad that we can provide meals for the Meals on Wheels program, law enforcement officers, Fire Department staff and Hope Harbor,” Meedel said.“We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”
