HASTINGS — McCook raced to an early 13-0 lead on the way to a 72-40 victory over Grand Island Saturday afternoon in the Heartland Holiday Hoops Classic at Hastings College’s Lynn Farrell Arena.
Tripp Raile had game-high totals in points (18) and rebounds (seven) as the Class B Bison improved to 5-0 on the season. Brody Graham had 14 points and four assists and Bryson Gullion chipped in 10 points for McCook, which finished 15 of 18 from the free-throw line.
Trae Pomajzl-Schacher scored nine points to lead Class A Grand Island (1-5), which shot 35% from the floor (14 of 40). The Islanders also committed 25 turnovers.
