GRAND ISLAND – Grand Island police arrested Savannah Masters, 39, of Hildreth at 8 a.m. Dec. 23 near Sixth and Elm Streets for multiple cases including arrest warrants from four counties.

According to Grand Island Police Department Division Chief Dean Elliott, Masters was in a vehicle and fled from officers. Police did not pursue the vehicle, but found it a short time later parked and abandoned near Sixth and Elm streets.

Witnesses told police that they had seen a female in an outbuilding along an alley. Police contacted Masters and arrested her on multiple charges. Two males fled from the scene and have not been located, Elliott said.

Charges against Masters have not been filed as of 2 p.m. Dec. 24.

According to a police report, Masters was arrested for three counts of felony theft, felony possession of stolen property, felony identity theft, felony fraudulent insurance act, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and felony flight to avoid arrest.

Hall, Adams, Merrick, and Dawson counties had issued arrest warrants for Masters. She was wanted in Adams County for failure to appear in court for two felony theft charges. An arrest warrant was issued in Merrick County for failure to appear for a felony possession of a controlled substance charge. Dawson County had issued an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court concerning a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.
