GRAND ISLAND – A Grand Island man is facing 13 felony charges after shooting 3 people Dec. 30 near 910 N. Boggs St.

Muoch Muon, 29, of 114 Pletcher Terrace was charged Dec. 31 with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, six counts of using a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Judge Michael Mead set Muon’s bond at $1 million.

Muon’s preliminary hearing will be at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

The three victims in the attempted first-degree murder charges were Mohamed Osman-Habib, Chuol Chuol, and Chris Kozitos.

According to a police arrest probable cause statement, police responded to 114 Pletcher Terrace at 11:28 p.m. Dec. 30 in response to multiple calls about gunshots. Police learned that the shooting victims had driven to CHI-St. Francis. Police spoke to the three victims at the emergency room at the hospital.

The victims were leaving from 910 N. Boggs St. when a male in the driver seat of a dark SUV waved the down and said that their vehicle’s lights were off. The man in the SUV began shooting into the vehicle where the three occupants were seated.

A man in the backseat of the vehicle that was shot at had gunshot wounds to his right leg. A second man who was the driver had gunshot wounds to his right shoulder and right hip. A third man who was in the front passenger seat had gunshot wounds to the right side of his head and abdomen.

At 114 Pletcher Terrace, officers located Muoch Muon. He had a Glock pistol in his hoodie pocket. A black GMC Envoy was located in front of 114 Pletcher Terrace, and the engine was running. Police located multiple gun casings inside the vehicle. The vehicle was registered to Muon.

A witness at 910 N. Boggs heard gunshots and then saw the vehicle containing the victims drive away at a high rate of speed. The witness saw Muon at the scene and knew him.

The victims were identified as a 20-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, and a 27-year-old male.
