GRAND ISLAND – A 30-year-old Grand Island man who admitted to law enforcement that he has been selling drugs for the last year was charged Jan. 5 with three felonies.
Christopher Holt, 30, of 2925 State St. was charged Jan. 5 with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, distribution of psilocybin with intent to distribute in a school zone, and distribution of marijuana near a school or playground for Jan. 2 incidents.
Hall County Court Judge Alfred Corey set Holt’s bond at $200,000, and Holt’s preliminary hearing will be at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 27.
According to a warrantless arrest affidavit from the Nebraska State Patrol:
At 2:10 p.m. Jan. 2, officers with the TRIDENT drug task force conducted a probation search at 2925 W. State St. When they entered the residence, there was an overwhelming odor of marijuana.
Officers detained Holt, his girlfriend, his 18-month-old son, and a friend.
Officers found 182.8 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a large bag of marijuana containing 116 grams, 2 zip lock bags containing 43.6 grams and 9.4 grams of cocaine. They found a digital scale.
Officers located a safe in the house containing 7 grams of cocaine and 35 THC wax containers.
Holt admitted to law enforcement that he had been selling drugs for the past year and had four to five customers who purchased marijuana and cocaine from him.
Holt’s residence is close to the Grand Island Public School’s Annex Building and Walnut Middle School.
Holt is the subject of a federal investigation and is on state probation for drug charges.
