GRAND ISLAND – Grand Island’s City Council voted 9-0 Jan. 27 to grant a Class “C” liquor license for Sin City Grill, 410 W. Third St.

What was a popular downtown dining destination at 410 W. Third St. is returning under new ownership. City Council Member Mike Paulick was absent from the Jan. 27 meeting.

The owner hopes to open Sin City Grill sometime in March.

A request for a liquor manager designation for Ivan Alcantar, 1413 S. Lincoln Ave., was submitted. He is listed on a police report as the owner/manager of the business.

Alcantar also owns Diamond Reception Hall, which is located in the 400 block of West Third St.

The interior of the restaurant has been gutted, according to the police report. Alcantar plans to have all new seating and flooring. The restaurant will have at least six additional employees. Alcantar plans to keep the original menu but wants to add some new items.

The restaurant will be open six days a week, likely from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Alcantar plans to lease the building for the first year, then will consider buying it.

Grand Island restaurant entrepreneur Brent Lindner previously operated Sin City Grill.
