GRAND ISLAND – Marty Klein announced Feb. 5 that he has filed to seek re-election as Hall County Attorney, a position he has held since 2019.

This marks the third time he has run for the office.

Since taking office, Klein has focused on serving the residents of Hall County with professionalism, integrity, and commitment to public safety. He emphasized that the role of County Attorney carries a serious responsibility to both enforce the law and ensure fairness in the justice system.

Klein, 54, is a Republican.

“I take my service to the people of Hall County very seriously,” Klein said. “It has been an honor to serve as County Attorney, and I am seeking re-election so I can continue working to keep our community safe and uphold the rule of law.”

Klein is proud to announce that his campaign is endorsed by local law enforcement partners from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10, representing Hall County Sheriff’s deputies, and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 24, representing officers of the Grand Island Police Department. Additionally, he is endorsed by the Cairo Quick Response Team.

“These endorsements mean a great deal to me,” Klein said. “They reflect the strong working relationships my office has built with law enforcement and first responder agencies here in Hall County.”

As County Attorney, Klein has worked closely with local law enforcement, victims, and community partners to promote accountability, protect public safety, and ensure justice is administered fairly and effectively.

‘I want to continue serving the citizens of Hall County and working alongside our law enforcement professionals to keep our communities safe,” he said.

Dan Niemoth, President of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 10, wrote in a news release “our membership believes Mary Klein embodies these qualities and will serve Hall County with integrity and fairness.”

“Throughout his career, Mary has shown a consistent respect for the law, a strong understanding of the criminal justice system, and a balanced, principled approach to prosecution. His commitment to ethical decision-making and his willingness to work collaboratively with law enforcement, community stakeholders, and county officials make him well-suited for the responsibilities of County Attorney,” Niemoth wrote.

“We are confident that Marty Klein will continue to uphold the highest standards of public service and will work tirelessly to ensure that the Hall County Attorney’s Office operates with transparency, accountability, and a focus on justice for all. His leadership will strengthen the partnership between law enforcement and the community while promoting both safety and trust,” Niemoth wrote.

Sgt. Ryan Rathbun, President of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 24 representing Grand Island Police officers , wrote, “Our members have worked closely with Mr. Klein throughout his tenure as the Hall County Attorney, and we have consistently observed Mr. Klein’s strong commitment to justice, professionalism, and public safety. He has demonstrated sound legal judgment and a clear understanding of the practical challenges faced by law enforcement officers and the community we serve.”

“Effective collaboration between prosecutors and law enforcement is essential to maintaining public trust and ensuring fair and lawful outcomes. Mr. Klein has proven to be a reliable and principal partner in this regard, always balancing accountability with fairness and respect for constitutional rights. “We are confident that Mr. Klein possesses the experience, temperament, and leadership necessary to serve the citizens of Hall County with Distinction as County Attorney,” Rathbun wrote.
