ALDA – The Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center is sponsoring a potluck and speaker series about cranes of the world on Feb. 10.

The meal will start at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 10. The program will start at 7 p.m. Feb. 10.

According to the Crane Trust, sandhill cranes may be the world’s most numerous crane species, but they are just one part of a much bigger story.

There are 15 species of cranes found across the globe, each with its own migration routes, calls, cultural significance, and conservation challenges.

In the program, participants will be introduced to the 15 crane species and hear stories that have connected people and cranes for centuries.

Join Kylee Warren, Crane Trust’s Virtual Programs Producer, for an immersive audio-visual presentation featuring stunning imagery and footage from her fieldwork, Crane Trust, and the International Crane Foundation.

Participants asked to bring a dish to share (optional). Plates, utensils, and drinks will be provided.

The Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center is located just south of the Alda Interstate 80 interchange at 9235 S. Alda Road. For more information, contact the Crane Trust at (308) 382-1820.
