On Feb. 6, investigators with the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force obtained search warrants for two vehicle as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The vehicles were a black 2009 Lincoln MKS and a white 2013 Ford Taurus.

Investigators had information that both vehicles were involved in the transport and distribution of methamphetamine. Investigators observed both vehicles at a residence known to be involved in the distribution of methamphetamine and observed Linder enter a black Lincoln and Fritz enter a white Ford Taurus. Investigators learned that both vehicles were traveling west on Interstate 80. They were traveling back together from Colorado.

While observing the vehicles, investigators noticed they were traveling together, with one vehicle closely following the other vehicle. Investigators observed both vehicles exit the Interstate at the Grand Island Highway 281 interchange and turn into a motel parking lot.

Investigators approached the vehicles in unmarked police vehicles and told the drivers to exit the vehicles. Investigators located two large bags containing suspected methamphetamine in the black Lincoln and also found a 9 mm handgun containing 17 rounds in the black Lincoln.

The two bags of methamphetamine were weighed at 907.4 grams of methamphetamine each for a total of 1,814.8 grams, which is approximately 4 pounds. Winder and Fritz were arrested and transported to the Hall County Department of Corrections.
