GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Island Police Department is conducting a fraud investigation after a mailed check was intercepted and cashed in Grand Island.
On Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 11:44 a.m., officers with the GIPD were alerted to a report of forgery.
During the investigation, it was found that a 40-year-old woman in Kearney had mailed a check in the amount of $4,200 but it had been intercepted, forged and cashed in Grand Island.
The case remains under investigation.
