KEARNEY — Barista’s Daily Grind announced that is location near the University of Nebraska – Kearney campus will shut down in early April, while also hinting at future developments for the business.

Barista’s Daily Grind (BDG) said that on Monday, Feb. 23, the campus location, 2301 13th Ave., will close daily at 1 p.m. and the final day of business at the location will be Friday, April 3.

“For over 18 years, our Campus Shop has been “home.” It’s where so many memories were made — study sessions, first dates, barista competitions, business meetings, and countless cups of coffee poured with pride,” per a social media post by BDG.

“This isn’t the end of BDG. It’s a strategic shift toward a stronger future. The world has changed since the pandemic — and so has the way we do business. We’re choosing to adapt boldly and intentionally,” per BDG.

“We have some exciting developments on the horizon for BDG, things we cannot wait to share, but in order to step fully into what’s next, we need to start moving pieces into place now,” BDG stated.

“In 2015, Barista’s expanded with a second location, followed by a third in 2023 — a former car wash reimagined into a one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience,” per the BDG website.

BDG will continue to operate its south location, 1502 2nd Ave. and north location, 5621 2nd Ave.

“We’re incredibly grateful for every single memory made inside those walls. And we promise — the story isn’t over,” BDG stated.

An announcement about the future of the business was slated for the end of April.
