HASTINGS — Big Idea Hastings, hosted by the Hastings Economic Development Corporation, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The event will be hosted at The Lark, 809 West 2nd St., starting with a social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the main event taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Big Idea Hastings is a spin on the popular television show, Shark Tank. Like the TV program, entrepreneurial hopefuls make a two-minute pitch before a panel of judges for their business, product, or service idea.
The top five finalists are determined by the judges, and the audience picks the top three winners.
The $5,000 grand prize consists of cash to assist the winner in making their big idea a reality. The second-place prize is worth $1,000 and third-place prize is worth $500.
Top five also receives access to local professionals and discounts to professional services to continue their idea.
Since the inception of Big Idea Hastings in 2015, over 20 businesses have launched from the event.
