According to media reports, Kearney Catholic’s Bob Langan has stepped down as the Stars boys basketball coach. Langan spent ten seasons coaching the Stars, with an overall record of 154-96, including four state appearances and third place at the C1 state tournament in 2022
In a statement from the school, Coach Langan said: “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with our student-athletes and a school community rooted in faith, character, and tradition. “I am proud of what our teams have accomplished together, but even more proud of the young men they have become through their hard work and commitment. This decision was not made lightly, but I believe it is the right time for me and my family. I will always cherish the relationships built and the memories made during my time as Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Kearney Catholic. Thank you to the administration, fellow coaches, players, parents, and fans for your support and trust over the years. I look forward to continuing to support Kearney Catholic basketball in the future and wish the program nothing but success.”
