GRAND ISLAND – The Grand Island Public Library, Grand Island Woman’s Club, Hall County Historical Society, Stuhr Museum, and YWCA of Grand Island are announcing the 2026 Hall County Women’s History Walk is from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at the Hargis House , 1109 W. Second St.

Over the last 150 years, Hall County has been the home of many remarkable women who made an impact on our community and beyond. In celebration of Women’s History Month, the program partners selected Hall County women to be recognized who met one or more of the following criteria:

*Broke barriers, challenged social norms, or paved the way for others.

*Made significant achievements in their chosen field.

*Served as leaders in community building activities or organizations.

*Made a positive impact in Hall County through philanthropy or social causes.

*Demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges and adversity.

*Played a crucial role in historical events or activities that have had a lasting impact.

The women who will be recognized during the 2026 Hall County Women’s History Walk are:

*Ruth Boyden, cultural and civic leader.

*Caroline Langman-Converse, prairie storyteller.

*Charlotte (Bosselman) Eaton, Inspirational businesswoman and political trailblazer.

*Madeline Kaufmann, cinematic visionary and philanthropist.

*Sister Mary Magdalena, Community healthcare champion.

Senator Arlene Nelson, Hall County’s first female state senator.

*Jane Pinder, Grand Island’s music teacher.

*Maxine Rathman, Wood River historian and community archivist.

*Frances Reynolds, Philanthropic leader and community champion.

*Ruby Washington, champion of children and equity.

All members of the community who are interested in learning more about and celebrating these remarkable women are invited to attend this event. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
