OMAHA — The Nebraska Broadcasters Association Foundation (NBAF) is awarding $1,000.00 scholarships to four Nebraska high school seniors with plans to earn a broadcasting-related degree and aspirations to work in broadcasting.
Applications were reviewed by a panel of NBA board members resulting in the following students earning a scholarship:
- Caydence Feldman, Litchfield High School. Caydence will attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to pursue a degree in Broadcasting;
- Sydney Huber, McCool Junction Public Schools. Sydney will attend Central Community College – Hastings to pursue a major in Multimedia Specialization;
- Emily Spiehs, Grand Island Northwest High School. Emily will attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to pursue a degree in Broadcasting;
- Jay Wissenburg, Milford Jr Sr High School. Jay will attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln to pursue a degree in Sports Media & Communication.
NBA Board Chairman, Mark Jensen owner of KNLV AM & FM in Ord, said: “We are thrilled to congratulate our winners on their exceptional achievement in earning an NBA Scholarship. This amazing accomplishment is just one step on your journey. Keep pushing forward, and never lose sight of your goals!”
The NBAF also offers scholarships to assist students enrolled in radio and/or television broadcasting or broadcast journalism educational programs at designated colleges and universities in Nebraska.
Over $300,000 in scholarships have been awarded by the NBA and NBAF since the NBA first began a scholarship program in 1977.
