KEARNEY — The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on West 35th St. during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, March 18.
At 2:35 p.m., the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 2003 W. 35th St. for the report of a structure fire in progress.
KVFD responded with numerous firefighters and at least three fire engines.
On scene, flames were emanating from the window of the east wing of the house. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames and entered into the structure.
The Kearney Police Department provided traffic control at the scene. Nebraska Public Power District employees shut off power to the residence.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
