GRAND ISLAND – A Sutton woman was arrested at 10:28 a.m. March 21 on West Old Potash Highway after an initial encounter in the parking lot of a Pump and Pantry convenience store.
Alyshia M. Peterson’s vehicle was running with the key in the ignition. Her movements were sluggish, and her eyes were bloodshot. She appeared to be impaired, according to a Grand Island Police Department report.
She was transported to the Law Enforcement Center, where an evaluation was performed and determined that it was not safe for her to operate her vehicle.
A white crystal-like substance was found in her possession, which was later determined to be methamphetamine. She also had counterfeit dollar bills which were intended to be used in making purchases.
Peterson was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of forged instrument, and misdemeanor second-offense DUI (drugs).
