YORK — On April 3, 2026, at approximately 1:49 p.m., deputies with the York County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the York Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 1000 block of North Grant Avenue in York, York County.
The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation that began on March 19, 2026, following a traffic stop involving a female driver who was later determined to be under the influence of drugs while operating a motor vehicle with multiple children present.
During that investigation, evidence was developed indicating possible drug exposure to a minor child.
Subsequent testing confirmed the presence of controlled substance metabolites in a young child, prompting further investigation and the issuance of a search warrant for the residence.
Upon execution of the warrant, deputies observed living conditions inside the home that were deemed unsafe and unsanitary for children. Law enforcement officers also uncovered drugs and drug paraphernalia that was accessible to children in the home.
As a result of the investigation, several adults who reside at the residence were arrested and lodged at York County Corrections. Several children were in the residence during the time of the search warrant as well. These children were released to non-offending parents/guardians who do not reside in the residence and others were removed from parental care and placed with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
The York County Sheriff’s Office takes allegations involving the safety and welfare of children very seriously. This case remains an active investigation, and additional charges may be filed as further information becomes available.

Michael Hodgson (25) of York was arrested on the following charges in relation to this case:
