Interstate 80, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
NORTH PLATTE — Weather permitting, work will begin April 7 on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 176.90 to reference post 185.74, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Western Engineering Company, Inc., of Harlan, Iowa, is the contractor for this project. Work includes asphalt resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained with temporary lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is June 2026.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
