GRAND ISLAND — State Street will be closed starting Monday, March 25 between Sagewood Avenue and Aspen Circle.
Menards’ driveway will remain open during construction east of the construction zone, and the Autumn Park Apartments will have access from Ebony Lane, McCoy Lane and its west driveway west of the construction zone. The closure is tentatively planned to last until July 2024.
The Claude Road project includes new construction from 13th Street to State Street. The project will consist of a concrete curb and gutter and a 3-lane, 41’-wide roadway section. Two roundabouts will be constructed with this project and include the intersections of Claude Road and 13th Street and Claude Road and State Street. The project will also include storm sewer construction, sidewalk/bike trail improvements and water main adjustments.
On Dec. 5, 2023, the Grand Island City Council awarded the construction contract to Diamond Engineering Company of Grand Island, Nebraska for $4,338,004.15.
