KEARNEY — A Minden man has been charged with distribution of methamphetamine and two counts of child abuse involving a 9-year-old and 13-year-old.
Michael Eggink, 40, has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony, and two counts of committing child abuse negligently – no injury, Class 1 misdemeanors.
Eggink was arraigned on March 18 and his bail was set at ten percent of $25,000. A preliminary hearing has been set for April 1, at 11 a.m. in Buffalo County Court.
The affidavit in support of the arrest warrant has been sealed in the case but the complaint alleges that on Feb. 1, at 211 E. 8th St., Eggink possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
In addition, the complaint alleges that he caused or permitted two minor children, ages nine and 13 to be placed in a situation that endangered their life or health but did not result in serious bodily injury.
He was booked into the Buffalo County Jail on March 19.
