HASTINGS — It will be a seasonal temperate week in mid-May as temperatures will be in the 70s and low 80s and on and off non-severe thunderstorm chances will continue.

Per the National Weather Service – Hastings, this week will see seasonable conditions throughout the week, with the next chance for showers and thunderstorms coming with a weak cold front and upper-level wave that will pass through the area Tuesday night into Wednesday.

While precipitation chances are fairly high with this event, the overall amounts will be lower at less than a quarter of an inch.

During the late week, the upper-level flow becomes mostly zonal and fairly weak through the remainder of the period.

Daily weak disturbances moving through the flow will contribute to isolated precipitation chances. The better precipitation chances look to come next week.

“After highs in the 70s to low 80s on Tuesday, temperatures will become cooler on Wednesday in the upper 60s to low 70s. The cool down will only be brief though as temperatures rebound back into the 80s by Friday,” per the NWS.
