CHI Health Good Samaritan (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — CHI Health Good Samaritan once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Only three hospitals in Nebraska, including two CHI Health hospitals in Omaha, received the prestigious “A” rating.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to keep patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

“Another ‘A’ rating reflects our 100-year commitment to ensuring our region’s access to the highest-level and safest health care in the nation,” says Curt Coleman, president, CHI Health Good Samaritan. “It’s a point of pride that our patients don’t have to travel for the best possible health care. Leading-edge technology is in their backyard along with expert clinicians who are also friends and neighbors.”

CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island was one of four hospitals in the state, and the only hospital in central and western Nebraska, to earn a highly-regarded “B” rating.
