Kearney Misko Senior Legion Baseball v. Hastings Five Points Bank 2024 // Rick Tucker
KEARNEY – A six run third-inning by the Hastings Five Points Bank seniors propelled the visiting Tri-City team to take the Tuesday night win at Kearney’s Memorial Field, as the Misko Seniors fell 10-7 dropping their third game in a row. Click here to listen to the broadcast replay.
Kearney (1-3) fell scoring seven runs on thirteen hits with two errors while Hastings earned the road win with ten runs on thirteen hits and one error.
Derrick Nonhof fielded the loss for the Misko Seniors, working three innings while allowing ten hits with eight runs, two earned, and one strikeout. Carlos Jiminez of Hastings earned the win going three and two-third innings with seven hits, four earned runs, and two strikeouts.
Hastings would move up early in the contest, scoring two runs in the opening frame and generating multiple hits. Kearney responded themselves with a run scored late in the first.

After Kearney tied the contest in the bottom of the second, Hastings erupted for six runs in the top of the third. Two errors advanced runners in Hastings favor off of Kearney’s missed throws across the diamond, opening up further scoring opportunities for the Five Points Bank seniors.
The Misko Seniors would slowly chip their way back in, getting their bats moving in the final four frames while fending off Hastings late advances. After scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Kearney held Hastings to only six batters in the fifth and sixth innings combined while the home team added in another three runs.
Leading 9-7 into the top of the seventh, Hastings would quickly garner walks from relief pitcher Rhett Mundorf and Kegan Brand, eventually adding an insurance score to take a 10-7 lead while Kearney was unable to keep their offense moving in the final frame.
Bryce Anderson led the way for Kearney in the box going 3-4 with 2 RBI and a double. Jacob Hansen ended 2-4 with a double and 2 RBI, while Rhett Mundorf added 2 RBI as well.
The Misko Seniors of Kearney begin the Millard South tournament in Omaha on Friday and competing through Sunday this upcoming weekend. Hastings takes on North Platte on Thursday.
