GRAND ISLAND — Two juveniles were cited for a variety of assault, obstructing, alcohol and terroristic threat charges following an incident in Grand Island on Tuesday, July 16.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 11:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to W. 5th St. in reference to an ongoing disturbance.

Officers found tow juvenile males who were both under the influence of alcohol.

The first male would resist officers attempting to detain him by trying to pull away from officers. He would also attempt to prevent officers from placing him in the back seat of a patrol car.

While attempting to place him in the patrol car, the male would kick an officer several times, causing them pain. Juvenile probation would be called and the first male would be placed in a juvenile detention facility.

The second male would be transported to Grand Island Regional Medical Center for medical clearance and would threaten to kill the officers who were on scene and their families.

Juvenile probation was also called for this male, who would eventually be released back to their parents.

The first male was arrested for third degree assault on a police officer, obstructing a police officer, resisting arrest and minor in consumption of alcohol.

The second male was arrested for terroristic threats.
