A Lexington woman was sentenced for drug trafficking.
In federal court Friday, Sanjuana Garcia-Ramirez, 40, of Lexington, Nebraska, was sentenced to 78 months’ imprisonment for possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Garcia-Rameriez will also serve a four-year term of supervised release after her sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.
The charges stem from an investigation in January 2021, where officers went to Garcia-Ramirez’s Lexington residence based on information that she was selling methamphetamine. Garcia-Rameriez was in drug court at the time in Dawson County based on previous conviction for possession of methamphetamine. Inside Garcia-Rameriz’s home, officers located several baggies of methamphetamine and a scale. Lab tests confirmed at least 53 grams of actual methamphetamine. Garcia-Ramirez intended to distribute the drugs.
During the investigation, cell phone messages were also found between Garcia-Ramirez and buyer.
This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol, the Lexington, Nebraska, Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
