HASTINGS — Johnson Services of Kearney will begin relining some sewers lines that were determined during inspections as needing to be repaired.
The work is scheduled to begin Thursday afternoon, July 25 and is estimated to take about a week to complete the work at six locations.
All of the locations to be repaired are in south Hastings.
Most of the areas needing work were identified during inspections by Johnson Services in fall 2023. An area including Woodland Avenue and B Street will need to be repaired following a sewer explosion on Jan. 17, 2024.
All of the relining work will occur on the street or in alleys, so travel may be temporarily impeded. Johnson Services will communicate with individual properties, if their sewer service may be affected during work at certain areas.
Sewer areas to be relined:
- Alley north and south of the C Street intersection.
- Garfield Avenue, south of C Street.
- The alley between South Hastings and South Denver Avenues.
- Alley, about the D Street intersection.
- D Street, just east of the South Boston Avenue intersection.
- Woodland Avenue and B Street.
