GRAND ISLAND — A suspect who stole a vehicle from a residence on Sunday, July 28 in Grand Island later returned it to the property.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 9:05 p.m. officers responded to Reuting Road for the report of a vehicle theft.
On scene, officers contacted a 78-year-old female who said that her 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup was stolen from where it had been parked in the driveway from 8:45 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. The keys had been left in the ignition.
The vehicle was later located behind the residence after the suspect returned it. The case remains open, according to the GIPD.
