A Holstein man died in a rollover accident Friday.
According to the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday at 2:45 p.m., deputies and Humboldt Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle accident on Highway 8, west of the Highway 105 intersection.
A preliminary investigation found that a westbound GMC Canyon travelling on Highway 8 had entered the northside ditch, rolled across Highway 8, and came to a stop in the southside ditch.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Joel Schutte, 60, of Holstein, NE, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, Schutte was not wearing a seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation by the Richardson Country Sheriff’s Office.
