HASTINGS — There will be scattered chances for showers and thunderstorms throughout the week, temperatures look to be the warmest on Wednesday.

Widespread rain and some thunderstorms will be possible across the area into early Tuesday morning. The overall threat for severe weather is low with meager instability and wind shear.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be similar to Monday and additional thunderstorm chances are expected to move in from the west during the evening.
More substantial instability builds back into the area and there is a chance for severe hail and wind late Tuesday night.
Wednesday looks to be the warmest day of the week as a more substantial shortwave disturbance moving in from the west. Highs are expected to be in the high 80s to low 90s.
“This shortwave then is expected to produce scattered to widespread thunderstorms across
the area Wednesday evening into overnight. Convective details are a bit uncertain, but this day has been highlighted as our ‘best’ chance for severe weather,” per NWS Hastings.
Per models, the Monday through Wednesday night rain totals are expected to be mostly in the 0.50-1.50-inch range.
Lower precipitation and thunderstorm chances continue through Thursday and Friday, but models are hinting that the weekend and early next week will be drier.
