GRAND ISLAND — Three vehicle thefts were reported to the Grand Island Police Department over the weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, at 6:13 a.m., GIPD officers made contact with a 30-year-old woman who advised that her silver 2006 Chrysler 300 C had been stolen from her residence.

The vehicle was estimated to be worth $3,500 and the woman wished to press charges. The case is under investigation.

On Aug. 24, at 7:30 a.m., A 19-year-old woman reported that a 2015 Dodge Charger had been stolen from a residence.

The vehicle was later recovered and released to the owner. The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile female and was cited for theft by unlawful taking – $5,000 or more.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, at 1:00 a.m., a 22-year-old male reported that a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from a residence on N. Wheeler Ave. The case is currently open.
