NEBRASKA FOOTBALL MONDAY PRACTICE COMMENTS – MATT RHULE:

RHULE – TEAM CONTINUES TO IMPROVE HEADING TO COLORADO:

Nebraska Football Head Coach Matt Rhule addressed the media on Labor Day and opened his comments saying the team continues to work to get better coming off their Week One loss…

The Huskers look to even their record against a Colorado team coming off the biggest upset in Vegas history – upsetting a Top 20 TCU squad as nearly 21 point underdogs.

RHULE – INJURY UPDATES GOING INTO COLORADO:

Matt Rhule, Nebraska Football Head Coach, gave a solemn injury update to the receiving corp and the rest of the Husker squad heading into their Colorado matchup…

The Huskers now remain extremely thin at receiver, as Rhule added he expects more true freshmen to see playing time moving forward.

RHULE – ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR RECEIVERS AFTER IGC INJURY:

Isaiah Garcia-Castenada ended his season in Week One with a torn ACL, and head coach Matt Rhule was adamant that his young receivers will need to step up to fill the void…

Aiding the passing game could be targeting receiver Billy Kemp and tight end Thomas Fidone more often – as both combined for only two targets and no receptions in the Week One loss.

RHULE – SIMS AIMS TO BOUNCE BACK:

Jeff Sims first start for the Nebraska Football team was one to forget, as the Georgia Tech transfer threw three interceptions in the 13-10 loss at Minnesota. Head Coach Matt Rhule spoke during Monday’s media session that Sims is working hard to shake off the performance…

The Huskers had four total turnovers in the Week One loss.

RHULE – COLORADO HAS EXCELLENT COACHES:

Nebraska Football Head Coach Matt Rhule spoke to the media on Labor Day, and was asked how his team prepares for Colorado with only one week of game film…

Nebraska aims to even their record on the season in Boulder as the Big Red hit the road for the second straight week.

HUSKER RECEIVER ROOM GETS THINNER; IGC OUT FOR YEAR:

Nebraska Football’s receivers room was already thin to begin with to start the 2023 season. But it officially got thinner Monday.

During his weekly press conference Monday morning at Memorial Stadium, head coach Matt Rhule announced starting receiver Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda is out for the season with an injury he suffered in the season-opener last Thursday at Minnesota.

Garcia-Castaneda was targeted a team-high five times, but caught just one pass for five yards. He was last seen on the field early in the fourth quarter running a route in the end zone.
