KEARNEY – The Awarii Dunes Challenge had several area girls golf teams in action on Thursday, Sept. 7.
Teams competing included: Minden, Broken Bow, GICC, Kearney Catholic, Adams Central, Holdrege, Gibbon, Cambridge, Ravenna, Arcadia/Loup City, and Doniphan-Trumbull.
Minden won the overall champion, shooting with a combined team score of 334. The Whippets edged past runner-up Broken Bow, shooting 342. GICC finished third, while Kearney Catholic was fourth at 390.
Broken Bow’s Camryn Johnson was the top individual shooting a 72 total. Julia Messere of GICC was one stroke behind to finish runner-up. Sidney O’Dey of Adams Central was third at 76, while Minden had a teammates KayLynn Jorgensen and Kara Suchsland finish fourth and fifth.
