Marcus Ditchman
KEARNEY — A Kearney man charged with terroristic threats and stalking police officials has been committed to a 90-day prison evaluation.
Marcus Ditchman, 59, had been charged two counts of stalking, a Class 1 misdemeanor; no operator’s license, Class 3 misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with rotating or flashing colored lights, Class 3 misdemeanor and no amber light in operation, Class 3 misdemeanor.
In addition, Ditchman is also charged with terroristic threats related to an incident at the Kearney Law Enforcement Center which took place on May 21, 2023.
Police say that Ditchman was located outside the building, yelling profanities at officers. Ditchman allegedly told officers to stay away, or he would let two dogs out of the vehicle.
After a hearing Buffalo County District Court Judge Patrick Lee revoked Ditchman’s bail and committed him to the Department of Corrections for 90 days to undergo a comprehensive medical, psychological and neuropsychological assessment.
In the stalking case, Ditchman pleaded no contest to one stalking offense, the state agreed to drop the other charges.
A no contest plea is neither an admission nor denial of guilt, but the plea is treated the same as a guilty plea.
Sentencing for both cases has been set for Feb. 28, 2025.
