KEARNEY — Faith Christian School in Kearney has announced that in the 2026-27 school year that they will begin offering high school level classes at the Kearney First Baptist Church, the former Kearney High School.
“For the last 40 years, the heart and mission of Faith Christian School has been to work with parents to disciple students as they pursue Jesus and excellence in every part of their lives. Over this time many things have changed, but the mission has remained constant,” Faith Christian School (FCS) stated.
“One natural desire that has come out of pursuing this mission is to support families throughout their child’s education, which is why we are so excited to announce our intention to expand Faith Christian School to offer high school-level classes beginning the 2026/2027 school year,” FCS stated.
It was noted that the FCS board, along with a group of volunteers, began investigating the possibility of starting a high school. It was noted at the time; the school was simply not ready for that kind of offering.
“Since then, our school has diligently pursued strategic planning and improvement projects to address the areas of necessary improvement, and we are excited to move forward with prayerful confidence,” FCS stated on their website.
FCS will be renting space at the First Baptist Church, which aims to provide a safe educational environment for students.
Enrollment for high school classes will start in January 2026 and enrollment for current families with students at FCS will be given first priority. FCS is currently enrolling pre-kindergarten through 8th grade for the 2025-26 school year.
