KEARNEY — There will be two street closures due to maintenance in Kearney, they include 1st Ave, from 60th Street to 500 feet south of 60th St. and the N/M Ave. overpass.
The City of Kearney Public Works Department would like to inform the public that the Avenue M/N overpass (27th Street to Q Avenue) will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for maintenance repairs and inspections, weather dependent.
Motorists and pedestrians will need to use alternate routes during this closure.
The City of Kearney Public Works Department, on behalf of Mid-Nebraska Digging, also announces that beginning Wednesday, April 9, 2025, 1st Avenue will be closed from the south side of 60th Street to approximately 500’ south of 60th Street.
The roadway will be closed to accommodate utility work.
All businesses along 1st Avenue which are south of the closed area will be accessible from 56th Street. The street is expected to be reopened within one week.
