GRAND ISLAND — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office released their activity during the “Put the Phone Away or Pay,” campaign in early April.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Nebraska Department of Transportation awarded them $5,336.33 to provided extra patrols focused on traffic enforcement during the “Put the Phone Away or Pay” mobilization campaign.

This campaign ran from April 7 through April 14. During the campaign, deputies worked 93 hours and recorded 145 contacts.

The contacts included 20 speeding citations, one DUI arrest, seven driving under suspension arrests and 46 total citations.
