YORK — Weather permitting, work will begin May 12 on U.S. Highway 81 (US-81), from reference post 61.23 to reference post 62.59, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
General Excavating Company of Lincoln is the contractor for this project. Work includes grading, seeding, bridge repair, guardrail and bituminous paving. Traffic will be maintained with lane closures.
A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is July 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
