GRAND ISLAND – Dan Naranjo, owner of All Faiths Funeral Home, will give presentation at Hargis House Woman’s Club about past and present funerals at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 21.
Doors will open for the event at 3:30 p.m. May 21.
He will share funeral memorabilia, antique artifacts, mourning hair art, and a light-hearted and historical look at funerals and why we celebrate life.
Refreshments served. Free will donations will be accepted and appreciated.
Andrew M. Hargis, president and co-founder of Grand Island Business College, built the Hargis House at the corner of Second and Lincoln Streets in 1898.
The Hargis family occupied the house until moving to California. Other owners include Christ Lutheran Church, Johnston Sanitarium and the Grand Island Woman’s Club.
The home is now owned by the nonprofit Hargis House Woman’s Club. Members are working to restore and save the residence so it can be shown and used for the community. The house is listed on The National Registry.
