KEARNEY — The City of Kearney Utilities Department announce that the outside southbound lane of 2nd Avenue will be closed from 45th Street to 42nd Street to all traffic beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
The closure will extend through the intersection of 44th Street, so east/west bound traffic on 44th Street will need to detour north or south around the closure.
The purpose of this closure is for valve and fire hydrant repair. The roadway will be reopened fully by the following Wednesday, May 28, 2025, weather and construction permitting.
Motorists are asked to plan their alternative route(s) and use caution when in the area.
