GRAND ISLAND — CHI Health St. Francis is being recognized on a global scale for nursing excellence and providing the highest level of patient care.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has designated St. Francis as a Magnet with Distinction organization–only 30 hospitals have achieved this prestigious honor worldwide.
“St. Francis is a special place, and being redesignated as a Magnet with Distinction organization validates that our community is receiving the very best care, delivered by nurses who are supported to be the very best that they can be,” says Kiley Grzywa, vice president, patient care services. “I am so proud of our amazing nurses, clinical and ancillary staff for going above and beyond, each and every day.”
The Magnet Recognition Program is the ultimate benchmark for nursing excellence gauging knowledge, skill, innovation, leadership and compassion. Magnet with Distinction raises the bar, recognizing only top-tier organizations who exceed Magnet scoring thresholds and the ANCC’s rigorous standards for nursing excellence.
Studies find that Magnet-recognized organizations report shorter patient stays, reduced falls, lower infection rates and overall better patient outcomes. These hospitals also experience lower nurse turnover and burn-out rates, and higher job satisfaction lending to nurse recruitment.
