OXFORD — Weather permitting, a mill and fill project will begin June 11 on U.S. Highway 136 (US-136), according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Mill and fill is a process of removing deteriorated asphalt in preparation of placing an asphaltic patch to improve the roadway surface and drivability.
State maintenance forces will be performing a mill and fill from reference post 4.53 to reference post 10.0, starting on the east side of Edison. The work is anticipated to take 18 days. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
