Mother Nature had different plans for the latest iteration of the WOK/WOGI softball matchup. The contest was postponed due to heavy rains and lightning in the area.
Roughly 30 minutes before first pitch, the game was sent into a lightning delay caused by storms to the south. As heavy rain rolled through, the field became unplayable, and officials postponed the game.
The softball game will be rescheduled to a later date. Official details will be released soon.
This was scheduled to be Kearney’s Senior Night and honor seniors Shay Ellis, Kami Kaskie, and Taylor Potter.
