GRAND ISLAND — There was an attempt to use a motion picture money prop at B&B Theaters in Grand Island during the evening of Wednesday, June 25.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, an employee at B&B Theaters reported that an individual had attempted to utilize the counterfeit money teller machine at the location.

GIPD noted the business was not deprived of any money.

The last time movie prop currency was reported to have had been passed in Grand Island was on Feb. 10, 2024 when a $100 counterfeit was used to purchase items from the store. The fake bill was discovered after the transaction.

There has been a number of fake $100 that have been circulating throughout Grand Island since early 2024. The most recent counterfeit bill was reported on June 22 at the Walmart location on N. Diers Ave.
